Draft notice. This document is a working draft and has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. A reviewed version will replace this page before public release.

1. The service

StepMap is a mobile game for iOS and Android in which players walk in the real world to draw closed routes that become in-game territories. Players can place emojis on owned territories, swallow other players' territories under encirclement rules, or destroy emojis by tapping. By downloading, installing, or using the app you agree to these terms.

2. Eligibility & account

3. Premium subscription

4. Fair play rules

The integrity of the game depends on real-world walking. You must not:

We may run anti-cheat checks (speed limit, step-burst detection, server validation) and silently invalidate walks that fail these checks.

5. PvP rules

6. Account suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms, especially the fair play rules in section 4. Termination cancels active Premium benefits; refunds are subject to the store's policies. You can delete your account at any time from Profile or by emailing support@stepmap.app.

7. Intellectual property

The StepMap name, logo, source code, art, and gameplay design are owned by the StepMap team. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial play.

8. User-generated content

Display names, avatars, team names, and other user-supplied text must not be illegal, defamatory, hateful, sexual, or infringing. We may change or remove offending content without notice.

9. Disclaimer of warranty

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app is error-free, always available, or fit for any particular purpose. Walking carries physical risk. You are responsible for your own safety, awareness of traffic, weather, and surroundings. Do not use the app while driving or in unsafe areas.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StepMap and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including personal injury, lost data, or in-game loss of territory or progress. Our total liability for any claim arising from the service is capped at the greater of (a) what you paid us in the past 12 months and (b) ₺200.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Disputes will be resolved before the Istanbul (Çağlayan) courts and enforcement offices, without prejudice to your consumer rights under local law.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in-app with at least 7 days' notice. Continuing to use the app after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
